Clinic and visits

Our new clinic opened at 76E East Boundary Road, Bentleigh East in February 2019. Services are currently offered here on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Below is a list of the council areas we service for onsite visits. If you live outside these areas there may be additional travel costs charged.

Referrals
|
No formal referral is required for our service. However a referral from your GP is required for children to be seen under the Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM). Call us on 0411 083 023 to book an appointment and to discuss how we can help.

Assessment |
We assess the development of babies, young children and school aged children. We consider how your child’s development influences what they can or cannot do and work with you to identify areas for further development and potential.
Initial session This session takes 60-90 minutes and involves:
Formal assessment This involves the use of tests that target specific areas of development. They take between 1-2 sessions to complete and include a written report, feedback and recommendations. Your occupational therapist will talk to you about whether your child would benefit from a formal assessment. Areas of development that we assess include:

Therapy Services |
Therapy Sessions
Therapy sessions of 60 minutes focus on goals developed with you. We encourage you to be part of therapy sessions with your child. The number of sessions will depend on your child and family’s needs. Our intervention aims to promote learning and development by:
Home Programs Home programs are provided during intervention sessions. They include practical ideas of how you can help your child’s development. Specialised Equipment Our occupational therapists are trained and have extensive experience in assessing and prescribing specialised equipment to meet the individual needs of babies, young children and their families. Sometimes a child requires specialised equipment to provide support with their posture and movement. Such equipment helps children and parents to carry out important daily activities like feeding, play and interaction. If you require such a service please contact us for further information. |
